WELCOME to my BLOG
Hi there!
I’m slowly working towards some simplicity within the home, but hey! It’s a lot of hard work!
I love having a go at growing my own veges and always use herbs fresh from my garden. I try to plant from seed whenever I can and have learnt to save and share my own seed for the following year. I make Award Winning preserves and pickles; and my husband brews Award Winning boutique beers as well. I love to stockpile and try to limit quick trips to the shops. I dabble in bread making and enjoy making my own stocks too.
I enjoy feeding my family good hearty meals, nothing like those tiny restaurant stacks you have to look for on the plate. My husband maintains our vehicles and machinery and we both enjoy fabricating on a small scale mostly relying on metal & timber recyclers for any materials needed.
While I don’t always have time to reply to comments, I love reading them. I hope you enjoy your stay and I hope you learn something new because I love sharing what I learn, and I'm always looking for another new skill myself.
Cheers!

5000 visitors in two months
On checking in, I have noticed some new 'followers' to my blog, so I take time to Welcome newbies and when time permits, I like to check out their blogs too.....
Blogging is so rewarding. I have found huge numbers of very talented people who love to share their knowledge...I find it very rewarding to be able to share my knowledge as well........and the comments left here are all wonderful....It is very encouraging to know that you are helping others along the way.
I started my blog back in February.....the 11th I think it was....I had no idea my blog would take so many hits...I had no idea the impact I could have on sharing what I know and do. I don't even have to think about what to post about now....I go to do something...and just photograph it along the way...deciding later if it is worthy of documenting on my blog.
Early in my blogging days I received a phone call from Rhonda at Down to Earth and I recall her asking me, "So; what made you want to start living the simple life?" ....I found myself lost for words....I had never called it anything in particular...It's just the way I do things.....I love the whole process of making things from scratch, I love preserving foods for later use...especially being able to use fruits and vegetables out of season. Over the years I have dabbled in using less chemicals, and I haven't always been so conscious of the chemicals we use, but that is changing..and change takes time.....
11 Feb to 11 April is 2 months...with over 5000 hits on my blog...I am just astounded each day to watch that counter go up...When I check in on my blog, I can't help but look at how many followers I have, and how many visitors I have had.
I start my day off by reading other blogs, replying to comments, and checking emails....this is my quiet time before the rest of the family rises....It also gives my pain medication time to work before starting my day........At the end of the day, usually sometime after our main meal, I like to get back on the computer and write in my blog.....I usually writing about what I have achieved on the day...
I just want to say a huge thank-you to all that follow my blog, and all that are enjoying what I write.....if you like something, or could add some valuable information to something...please feel free to leave some comments....I look forward to reading many more comments in the future and writing many more posts.
Hi Narelle, Congrats. I heard that the broadband was done in your area for about thirty six hours due to a major cable problem, good to have you online again.
