WELCOME to my BLOG

Hi there!

I’m slowly working towards some simplicity within the home, but hey! It’s a lot of hard work!

I love having a go at growing my own veges and always use herbs fresh from my garden. I try to plant from seed whenever I can and have learnt to save and share my own seed for the following year. I make Award Winning preserves and pickles; and my husband brews Award Winning boutique beers as well. I love to stockpile and try to limit quick trips to the shops. I dabble in bread making and enjoy making my own stocks too.

I enjoy feeding my family good hearty meals, nothing like those tiny restaurant stacks you have to look for on the plate. My husband maintains our vehicles and machinery and we both enjoy fabricating on a small scale mostly relying on metal & timber recyclers for any materials needed.

While I don’t always have time to reply to comments, I love reading them. I hope you enjoy your stay and I hope you learn something new because I love sharing what I learn, and I'm always looking for another new skill myself.

Cheers!

Photography - Another passion

It seems my love for photography fits in well with my new found love of blogging. Here you will just find a selection of photos I have taken.

Please enjoy browsing through my photos, but remember that they are my personal property, and that if you wish to use them in any way, you need to contact me and ask permission. As I am in no way a professional photographer, I would love your input.

If you wish to leave any comments feel free to do so and I will get back to  you

  2. thanks Sherrie, I should check out a photography course so I can expand, I do love taking photos though..I especially love the look of a close up still of an item with a blurry background...but my little camera doesn't have that function.....That son in the tree with the Koala...they had to climb up a ladder to have their photo's taken....and he is 19 now...how quickly they grow up. Just seen your thermal cooker and loving it...am so jealous.

  3. Hi, just browsing through all your blog now, as I love it! This post caught my eye, as I have trained (and qualified)as a photographer in my past. Though to look at my blog right now, you wouldn't know it, haha! I did do my training JUST before digital became a big thing, so I am a perfect darkroom and film photographer. Digital shooting and editing, not so fabulous.

One tip, seeing as you asked: in landscapes, make sure your horizons are perfectly horizontal, be it beaches, hill lines or whatever. You have some lovely photos, keep taking them!

  4. Thanks Cat...I would love to learn more about Photography...but it all seems so complicated, and I have never been able to afford an expensive camera either....
Thanks for the hints on landscapes...I always find them harder when the horizon is rounded like with the beaches ....
I have always enjoyed taking photos and now I have a blog...I want to improve on the photography too.
Thanks for leaving a comment and thanks for reading my blog...Hope everything is getting a little easier for you..
