Hi there!

I’m slowly working towards some simplicity within the home, but hey! It’s a lot of hard work!

I love having a go at growing my own veges and always use herbs fresh from my garden. I try to plant from seed whenever I can and have learnt to save and share my own seed for the following year. I make Award Winning preserves and pickles; and my husband brews Award Winning boutique beers as well. I love to stockpile and try to limit quick trips to the shops. I dabble in bread making and enjoy making my own stocks too.

I enjoy feeding my family good hearty meals, nothing like those tiny restaurant stacks you have to look for on the plate. My husband maintains our vehicles and machinery and we both enjoy fabricating on a small scale mostly relying on metal & timber recyclers for any materials needed.

While I don’t always have time to reply to comments, I love reading them. I hope you enjoy your stay and I hope you learn something new because I love sharing what I learn, and I'm always looking for another new skill myself.

  3. Narelle, Im so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. l lost my father a couple of weeks ago and it's the hardest thing to have neither of your parents around. l wish you all the strength in the coming days as l know the funeral is one of the hardest things to go through.

    lots of love Gail (poodlelover)

  4. What a blessing those last weeks were for you all...thinking of you, Narelle, and sending love and hugs. I lost both my parents in my 30's...I'm 60 next year. It's a big hole in your life, but you have so many lovely memories to help fill it up.

  5. My parents died in 1991 and 1993. The jagged hole in my life has lost the sharp edge, but I still have the hole. I am sorry both your parents have died.

  6. Thinking of you, even though you dont know me Ive been reading your blog and check back daily to see if you have put up any new posts. I lost my mum after caring for her too, and you feel abit lost because your days were so full of that plus your normal family life. Though as you have so eloquently showed us in your blogs we never really lose our mums or our nans as we have their wisdom that they took time to lovingly instill in us as they invested in our lives and you have been kind enough to post this wisdom onto others. So they never really leave us and you have been kind enough to share. Much love to you at this time.

  7. Have been with you in spirit and thought, Narelle. Hope time will ease your pain, sending a warm hug,
    Love from Sue

  8. May you find peace and comfort in the God of All Comfort at this time and always.

  9. I'm so sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.

  10. She sounds like an awesome lady, may she rest in peace. A huge hug to you in what must be a very hard time.

  11. Been thinking of you Narelle..how are you doing?

  12. Thinking of you and wondering how you are doing?
