I wish I could take the credit for this pastry dough, but nope...I can't........
TasmanianMimilist at the Down to Earth Forum posted the recipe....saying "This pizza base, calzone, scroll base is the most simple base recipe ever." ......over at her blog, she makes Vegemite & Cheese Scrolls to put in her daughter's lunch box; using the exact same dough base.......and she is right....Oh boy is she right....
Waiting for Pizza Dough's to rise .....is the main reason we hardly ever have a pizza night.....but this recipe holds a whole new vision for Pizza Nights at our house.....and they will be even better when I'm organised with my own Mozzarella.
I suppose with all this blah blah blah...I should share the recipe.....
That gives you enough dough for one large Pizza......I'm even using my own home-made yoghurt....even better, if you don't have Self Raising Flour, it still works by adding Plain Flour and 2 teaspoons of Baking Powder.......I even tried 50:50 with White and Wholemeal flours.
Knead on floured bench for 5 minutes adding extra flour if needed. |

Pizza #3 this one even has julienned Swede I'm just using whatever we have. |
My yummy light crust from Pizza #2 |
Pizza #4......Goes in the freezer to cook another night... We are all way to full to cook this one. |
Have you ever heard of this quick Pizza Dough? I certainly hadn't.......will you have a go at it?
I am so glad you like it. Your pizza is miles nicer than mine too by the looks of it ! I found the recipe on www.kidspot.com.au this has the best recipes for busy, busy people :) Thanks for stopping by X
ReplyDeleteI will certainly try this! Two ingredients? Yay! Thank you for posting inspiring photos of your many experiments, and now I'm off to visit TM's site as well...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so easy, it looks too good to be true! Will have to try it when I flash up the clay oven! Thanks Narelle.

i am looking forward to trying this, would you please tell me what temp. you set it for and how long do i cook it thanks.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good!
ReplyDeleteWe use SR flour and milk to make our pizza dough, which is very similar. I'm going to try the yoghurt next time - I think it'd have a great flavour.
That's the wsay I do it too. Hubby's recipe is way too complicated for me, he uses yeast, leaves it to rise, if I want pizza for tea I don't want to have to start making it at lunch time.

Sounds so easy and looks really good to. Another one for the recipe file.

Oh, I love playing with yeast and the smell of it, but this looks like such a nice recipe I might have to give it a go. The focacia looks great. I always make extra pizzas and freeze them for a quick meal when I don't have time to cook.
ReplyDeleteSo perfect! I just love learning new things and skills.I should be more patient and load more pictures. I love all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI posted up my picture of ingredients in case you missed it. Here it is for you.

TasmanianMimilist: Thanks again for the recipe...you are too kind with my pizza's, you should have seen the mess I made in the kitchen...lol thanks also for the link to kidspot...I'm definitely going to check that out.
ReplyDeleteQuinn: I like to post many photos if I can...even if they are a bit blurry...if I think they are important, I will still include them.
Gavin: I thought you might like this recipe...I can't wait to see you fire up that cob....so exciting for you, I'm keeping an eye on the whole process.'
Andrea & Reginascottage: Thanks, there sure were yummy..I hope you try making them too....You won't regret it.
Mum & Anon: It is a good quick recipe...I baked my Pizza's at 210 degrees celcius...but I don't time them, as all ovens are different,...and it depends on what toppings you add...Just keep an eye on them,...I found by the time I had made the next pizza, preparing as I go...I found I could have one coming out of the oven, by the time the next one was ready to go in.
Darren:Flour and Milk sounds good too...with Yoghurt you are also adding the probiotics and natural cultures into your diet....so it's all good...I'm also going to try 50:50 home-made yoghurt and Kefir milk next time.
Barb: I like that I don't have to start at lunch-time with this one too. It's a keeper.
Gail: When I seen this recipe, I just couldn't wait to try it...and I just had to share it knowing it would be a keeper for others too.
africanaussie: Hi. I only made the Focaccia because I knew the dough wouldn't rise...everyone ate it up anyway...but they did enjoy the next ones even more.
Kids and Canning Jars: Hi Melissa, I too love learning new skills, the more the merrier...even if it bogs me down....I can't help myself. I'm glad you are enjoying all the pictures....Thanks for the link to your blog,...Wow, those ingredients look fab for a pizza...and all preserved at home...that's fantastic....a lot of work, but great satisfaction too...Well done.
Thanks for the recipe. The pizzas look amazing. I will give the dough a whirl this Friday night.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Joolz
