I have made soap before, but many years ago, when I was first married. I got this recipe from Down to Earth with Rhonda.I first made Rhonda's Olive & Coconut Oil soap, how lovely it is, I can see it is going to be a good soap.....
I had some cottonseed oil left over from years ago, and some olive oil left over from the above soap
my left over oils soap using the soap calculator.
250 grams coconut oil (copha)
370 grams cottonseed oil
450 grams olive oil
406 grams water
150 grams caustic soda (lye)
1 cup uncrushed dried lemon verbena leaves...then crush to fine.
on reaching trace I then added the dried crushed lemon verbena leaves...and poured into mould.
This soap reached trace very quickly with a stick mixer, It was also easy to cut just a few hours later....after much advice from Down To Earth I am not expecting any scent from the lemon verbena, but it will be a great exfoliator and has made a lovely colour....
Now I just have to wait 6 weeks to be able to try it.
